Lost Villa from above

About us

The story of Lost Villa

It all started with the search for the ultimate place for training and recovery. It led to a secluded bay on southern Hvar, far from paved roads and big hotels.

From dream to reality

A stone house, the sun and the sea

The site originally consisted of a rustic stone house used by local olive farmers and fishermen.

The vision was simple: an off-grid destination where the electricity comes from the sun, the water is heated by the day’s rays and the only sounds are the waves against the rocks and barbells hitting the floor.

The heart

The outdoor gym at the water’s edge

Here at the water’s edge, under the open sky, one of Europe’s most spectacular outdoor gyms has taken shape – with rigs and weights from Eleiko.

From stone to gym

How we built Lost Villa

We signed the contract in 2015, took over in 2016 and have built everything ourselves since then – from a small gym on the terrace to the outdoor gym at the water’s edge where we still train today.

2015 · Love at first sight

The first viewing with the estate agent. We had no idea where he was taking us as we drove on and on along remote gravel roads, ever further from civilisation. But when we arrived, it was pure magic – exactly what we had been looking for. One walk down to the sea was enough, and we said yes before we had even been inside the house.

2016 · Taking over and gym 1.0 on the terrace

We took over in 2016 and immediately built a small gym on the terrace. Friends came down to train with us – and that’s how it started.

2017 · More ways to train, more friends

We expanded with rigs, stairs, a bar and a diving tower – and even more people came to train with us. What else are you supposed to do in the middle of nowhere? 😄

2018 · The big outdoor gym and the first fitness holidays

Diggers, concrete mixers and equipment from Eleiko. We built the outdoor gym at the water’s edge that we still train on today – and started the fitness holidays with Fitness Travel. The concept is largely the same now as it was then.

Simplicity and community

Luxury isn’t measured in room service

Over the years Lost Villa has become a meeting place for people who appreciate the simple things. Luxury is seeing dolphins from the breakfast table, training with like-minded people and eating food made from local ingredients and olive oil from the bay’s own trees.

Today Lost Villa stands for a sustainable and active lifestyle – a place where you slow down, disconnect from the outside world and focus on what matters: health, nature and community.

The fun thing is that the concept is largely the same as when we started the fitness holidays in 2018: training by the sea, great food, sun and a community you take home with you. We’ve just fine-tuned the details.

Ready for a training week by the sea?

Train hard, swim in the Adriatic, hang out with new friends and enjoy a week far from everyday life.
